Little bird

Psalm 84:3

Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, at your alters, O Lord of hosts, my King and my God.
Blessed are those who dwell in your house ever singing your praise!

I enjoyed my visual meditations on one of my favourite Psalms this afternoon.  I get to be the little bird, raising her young in the Presence of the Most High and making this her great habitation.

Timing is everything

"He who watches the wind (waiting for all the conditions to be perfect) will not sow (seed) and he who looks at the clouds will not reap (a harvest)" Ecclesiastes 11:4

I have suffered now and then with the foolishness of wanting to wait until everything is just so, perfect, before branching out and taking the initiative, or doing that thing I feel called to do.  I feel challenged this morning to wait on God for His timing, but when He says the timing is right, it is right away!  If Joseph had waited till the morning to get up and get out of Bethlehem, like the angel told him, it would have been too late.  He had to get up and get out right then, and he did!  He had learned the importance of immediate obedience to the Word of the Lord.

The timing is everything!  I want to be one who obeys straight away without waiting for everything to be 'just so' or 'perfect'.
