Mankind was created to be the dwelling place of God. The place where God Himself is happy to abide. He came on Jesus, and remained! O how I long to be the place where He can remain, un-grieved and in full control. In His Presence is fullness of joy. The pleasures I crave are found only at His right hand. (Ps 16:11)
And He remained on Jesus. Only Jesus was worthy, only Jesus was Holy, the true blameless lamb of God without defect. But I am found now in Jesus, and because of Jesus, I also get this incredible honour, I get to host the Presence of the Living God. I can have as much of Him as I want! Lord, let me hunger for your Fullness! Come and dwell not just within us but upon us! Let us walk gently and in a manner worthy of you. You abide with the humble, the contrite but are far from the proud. You dwell where kindness and love and peace are found. You are attracted to the meek, the lowly, the desperate, the hungry. Give us the gift of spiritual hunger, Lord, and then satisfy it with your very self. For the world's sake. For Jesus' sake.....
